When Virgin Galactic were looking for some atmospheric music to herald the launch of their ground-breaking ‘SpaceShipTwo’ this week, they turned to the UK’s biggest DJs, Above & Beyond. Spread The Noise is now helping Above & Beyond with a specially tailored music blog PR campaign which hopes to mirror their stellar achievement.
At an event hosted by Richard Branson in the Mojave Desert, the track chosen to accompany the official unveiling of SpaceShipTwo was Above & Beyond’s club anthem ‘Buzz’, which samples Buzz Aldrin’s original moon-landing dialogue. To mark the occasion, guests were also handed a special ‘Galactic Grooves’ USB wristband, featuring a selection of Above & Beyond’s songs.
After the unveiling and naming by governors Richardson and Schwarzenegger, Above & Beyond performed an exclusive DJ set in front of an audience of 800 dignitaries, celebrities and soon-to-be astronauts, plus the assembled global media.

We’re always encouraging our clients to vary the material used in their music blog PR campaigns. We think video content is great as it allows the reader to interact with a visual stimulus as well as an audio one. YouTube also has naturally viral characteristics so it’s a great aspect to add into a social media marketing campaign.
Spread The Noise is currently helping Nick Thayer, signed to Passenger Records, promote his Ca$h Money EP out in mid-January 2010. This video is a showcase of his live audio and VJ show he’s put together with his brother, and it’s really something special.
Spread The Noise is massively excited to announce the addition of a new client to our roster – in the form of violinist/singer Taylor Rankin. Hailing from balmy Bermuda, this extremely talented guy hasrecently been warming up for Mary J Blige and Heather Nova, and plays a truly unique fusion of reggae, funk and hiphop. Oh yeah, and all this is on a violin? Supported by the drumming of Dwight Hart, Taylor sings vocals, and plays violin and percussion, creating a truly unique sound.
Our music blog PR campaign will run into 2010 and we’ll be delivering an innovative online campaign that truly reflects the quirky nature of Taylor’s work.

We’re delighted to announce that Spread The Noise has been hired to help promote Kidda’s new album on Skint Records.
We’ll be putting together a blog PR campaign that reflects the massive nature of this release, with planned coverage across a number of major music blogs.
The release will be a compilation of remixes from his 2008 album “Going Up,” which received massive plaudits from DJ Magazine (Album Of The Year), DMC Update (Album Of The Week), Mojo, The Sun, and Zoo Magazine. Annie Mac (BBC Radio 1) called “Under The Sun” her “Track of The Year” and the tunes received support from Fatboy Slim, Kissy Sellout, Judge Jules and Dave Spoon.
With reworks of all the tunes from that massive album featuring producers like Herve, Heavyfeet and Jackbeats – this latest adventure is set to be just as big.
More info to come on this soon, but in the meantime enjoy the Bacardi advert that sent Kidda flying into the musical subconscious of the nation last year. Have a drink on us!
UK-based record label Kiss My Bass is a label that Spread The Noise has been involved with right from the start. We’ve helped push out label boss Udy’s free tracks to the blogs – generating widespread coverage on sites like Manalogue, Meanbucket, Soquitcherbitchen, Keep Real, Funkism, Phase02, Consequence of Sound and Skippers Chippers.
Their first proper release is now out, featuring Brooklyn wunderkid Mr. Vega. With remixes from Udy and Buju Ben – this release is already charting in the Hype Machine Twitter charts (see here, currently at #19) and we’re glad to see it rocketing up there after just a few hours on the blogs.
Always great to see a new label get everything together for their first release and very glad to be helping out Udy on this one.
Acclaimed Aussie MC NineLives The Cat released his debut album on 6th October with UK label Diverted Traffic, and we’re delighted to be working with over 1000 bloggers to tell the world about it.
This guy’s been rhyming on tracks with the likes of Rico Tubbs, Rennie Pilgrem, Madox, Rob Reng, Beat Assassins and even Justice – so he’s no amateur.
The free track we’re giving away, called “Crash Test Kitten” is available below – check it out and see what you think!

The track is out on Southern Fried Records and is a remix of Crookers featuring Wiley. You can listen to it below, the guys have whipped up the original into a bassy and frenetic club track with it’s own fair share of flair ‘n funk to it!
The meteoric rise to #1 on the blog charts is timed perfectly to coincide with the release of their EP2 on Beatport – download it here.

OG (Owain Griffiths) is a Manchester based producer and DJ with a long running show on NuSkoolBreaks Radio and previous remixes of Emmet, Roots Manuva and even Biggie Smalls under his belt. His new EP “Bubbling” is chock full of grimy bass, tight rhythms and a spacey vibe, out Friday 16th October on Midnight Minus Two.
Owain is a new kid to releasing tunes, but it doesn’t really show. Merging beats, rhythms and melodies from dance music that were around a long time before he was, with influences of broken beat, glitch, ragga and the huge heaviness of old school dub sound systems this EP should seriously mash some heads!
